It's Been Too Long-Plus A New Addiction

Well what can I say? I'm a horrible blogger. I get so excited about having a blog and then life gets in the way and it gets shoved to the wayside. Since the time of my last post around Christmas time of last year, I have moved yet again. Total chaos is my middle name, didn't I tell you? So with that, getting settled (yet again) and homeschool, I haven't felt like doing a blog, let alone have had the time.
But here I am again, looking at my poor neglected blog and deciding to make time on this calm Sunday afternoon to make a post, however short and off the wall (or subject) it may be. I have started learning another new crafting addiction: sewing! Not only for enjoyment but also out of necessity (we've started a new family/friend business that involves sewing interiors and upholstery). So whilst the others are at the hangar daily painting planes and doing quotes for potential customers, I am mostly at home doing homeschool and being a domestic goddess. But since I'm home, I have been practicing sewing various stitches on a lovely old Kenmore sewing machine that was given to me by a dear friend.
My first project was a drawstring bag of which I cut and sewed the fabrics the wrong way as seen in the photos below (total newbie mistake). It was a fun first project however, and it looked so plain that I thought I'd needle felt a cute little piper onto the bottom since it was a nice sandy color.

It was nice mixing both sewing and my passion for needle felting into one project and I loved how it turned out on the finished bag, of which I gave as a gift to someone very special to me.

So with the sewing bug biting me hard, I've been busy making bags including this one I'm very happy with and made it my sewing travel bag.

Amongst the many bags I have been practicing stitches on, I still have been busy needle felting some new items, including some as gifts and some that will be for adoption. In honor of spring, I made a little bunny for my sweet sister. She is a seamstress herself and surprised me with an adorable blanket with little bunnies on it (I am of course a bunny mom) so I made a sculptured version of one of the little cuties for her.

I'll end this post with my latest little bunny I just finished over the weekend. Little Ivan is in a typical begging bunny pose, ready for treats or attention from his new forever family. He will be posted on the website shop soon for adoption.
